The right image for the right question
Technology matters. Interpretation matters more.
Good imaging begins with a clear clinical question and ends with a report that supports the next decision. Naraya coordinates suitable imaging, preparation, radiologist review and follow-up with the referring care team.

Obstetric & pregnancy ultrasound
Pregnancy ultrasound uses sound waves to assess gestation, fetal development, placenta, fluid and other clinical questions. The type and timing depend on gestation and medical need.
Specialist fetal imaging may evaluate anatomy, growth, blood flow or a finding from routine screening. Further counselling or multidisciplinary review may be arranged when required.
Pelvic ultrasound supports assessment of the uterus, endometrium, ovaries and surrounding structures for pain, bleeding, masses, fertility or other concerns.
A transabdominal scan images through the lower abdomen and may require a comfortably full bladder. It is often used for pelvic, pregnancy and abdominal assessment.
Transvaginal ultrasound uses a covered internal probe for detailed pelvic images. Consent, privacy and comfort should be prioritised, and alternatives can be discussed.
Serial ultrasound may track follicle development and endometrial changes during ovulation induction, IUI or IVF. Findings are interpreted with the fertility treatment plan.
X-ray uses a small amount of ionising radiation to assess bones, chest and other clinical questions. The team should be told about any possibility of pregnancy before imaging.
MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radiofrequency energy rather than X-rays. It provides detailed soft-tissue imaging; implant screening, noise protection and contrast decisions are important.
CT uses X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images and can be important in urgent or complex diagnosis. The expected diagnostic benefit is balanced against radiation and contrast considerations.
PET imaging uses a small amount of radioactive tracer to show metabolic activity and is commonly combined with CT. It is used for selected cancer and other specialist indications.
An imaging report describes findings and may recommend comparison, follow-up or additional tests. Results should be interpreted alongside symptoms, examination and other investigations.
The referring clinician and radiologist select the most suitable test according to the clinical question, urgency, pregnancy status, radiation, contrast, availability and the strengths of each modality.
02Do ultrasound and MRI use X-ray radiation?
No. Ultrasound uses sound waves and MRI uses magnetic fields and radiofrequency energy. X-ray, CT and PET/CT involve ionising radiation.
03Must I tell the imaging team if I may be pregnant?
Yes. Always tell the referring clinician and imaging team before X-ray, CT, PET or contrast imaging if pregnancy is possible. Necessary imaging should not be delayed without discussing the risk of missing a diagnosis.
04What should I bring to an imaging appointment?
Bring the referral, previous reports and images, medicine and allergy information, kidney-test results if requested, implant details for MRI, and pregnancy information where relevant.
05Does Naraya provide fetal sex determination?
No. Naraya does not perform or communicate fetal sex determination. Sex selection and sex determination are prohibited and punishable under India’s PCPNDT Act.
